CSS Miz Howdy, Tony :)
CSS Tony Hiya MIZ!!!
CSS Miz How ya doing?? :)
CSS Tony Take pity on me I'm sick. :( Cough
CSS Tony Hehehe
CSS Miz Awwww, sorry to hear that. Poor baby! :D
CSS Tony Now that's more like it!
CSS Tony :))))
CSS Tony So what are you up to tonite?
CSS Tony Have i seen you online before CSS?
CSS Miz Waiting for a meeting we're supposed to have tonight.
CSS Miz (Sorry, was just checking a file.)
CSS Miz I'm generally online under my hosting name, MizChiff 2 :)
CSS Tony I thought so!!!
CSS Miz Yup :)
CSS Tony Got a GIF?
CSS Miz Nope :)
CSS Tony Darn, want mine?
CSS Miz Sure :)
CSS Tony Okay let me mail it to you hold on
CSS Miz Okay! :D
CSS Miz Hiya, Dennis :)
CSS Dennis hi!!
CSS Miz Got it, Tony! Thanks :)
CSS Tony Hiya Dennis
CSS Tony hey I saw someone using these commands //
CSS Dennis I see ya Tony, no matter how hard you try to hide behind that flower :)
CSS Tony like//roll
OnlineHost CSS Dennis rolled 2 6-sided dice: 6 4
CSS Dennis like that?
CSS Miz LOL, Dennis ;)
CSS Tony yah cept they were asking questions
CSS Miz Tony, we've been having a lot of problems with that --
CSS Tony like // new
CSS Miz they just removed the Trivia Tools this week.
CSS Miz Someone was using it to find out people's passwords. :(
CSS Tony Someone was getting really nasty
CSS Miz Yeah, that too :(
CSS Miz Dennis, I was beginning to think everyone had forgotten about the meeting.
CSS Tony Rain rain go away?
CSS Dennis :) It's not 6pm yet ;)
CSS Dennis LOL!
CSS Miz Can't be far off, my clock says 6:01 pm :)
CSS Tony how bout 9 AM like my last meeting?
CSS Dennis The more I thought about it, the more I think we'll probably end up expanding into
CSS Miz Ugh, Tony! Not if I don't have too!
CSS Dennis other areas. Sort of a catch-all for questions. Rainman first, then the other goodies. ;)
CSS Tony How does Rainman work?
CSS Tony Wasn't that a movie?
CSS Miz Yep, sure was. A good movie, too. :)
CSS Dennis <-- buys his underwear at K-Mart ;)
CSS Tony oh and evryone in the OH was wondering why we have to be at the kitchen table
CSS Miz To practice our manners?
CSS Dennis Ah, to heck with it, let's get started.
CSS Miz Dennis, does that fall under "catch-all" or "other goodies"? ;>
CSS Miz What?? With only 2 of us here??
CSS Dennis Sure Miz :)
CSS Tony Gary too
CSS Dennis three
CSS Miz Oh, make that 3 (other than you)
CSS Miz Hiya, Gary :)
CSS Dennis Let's do it. To answer Tony's question first - how does Rainman work.
CSS Dennis To figure that one out, we need to tear apart the header stuff in a Rainman report.
CSS Tony Log on!!!!
CSS Dennis (thanks Tony_
CSS Gary <--- Is here now! :)
CSS Dennis The first line in any report is the \group
CSS Dennis This alerts the system as to what area online the changes will be to. Our current - and
CSS Gary Hmmm... *sloooow* node here :(
CSS Tony \group, is that a command?
CSS Dennis only group is Bobaloo. So, the "\group Bobaloo", tells the stratus that all changes followi
CSS Dennis oops, following will occur in the area set aside as Bobaloo.
CSS Dennis (yes, \group is a command but needs a parameter, i.e.; Bobaloo)
CSS Tony Is that the default that we will be using?
CSS Dennis Hmmm, I guess I should have mentioned that ALL rainman commands are preceded
CSS Dennis by a '\' backslash.
CSS Dennis For now, yes Tony. Later, when the other areas and forums go to full rainman, there
CSS Dennis will probably be alot more groups to work with. As for default - nope, you can NEVER
CSS Dennis leave this command line with just a "\group". The report could really hose up another area
CSS Dennis online.
CSS Dennis Hokay, we woke up the Stratus, told it where we're going to be working - its now time
CSS Dennis to tell the expensive paperweight what we're going to do.
CSS Dennis "\id xxxx" tells the stratus EXACTLY what we're changing. In every group, there are a
CSS Dennis whole bunch of items and each item is identified by a number. The 'xxxx' in this case is
CSS Gary Bak!
CSS Dennis where you would put the item id#. If the item is brand new, then you would put 'auto'
CSS Miz WB!
CSS Dennis so that the stratus will assign an id# to your new item.
CSS Dennis Did I confuse anyone??
CSS Tony :: Is Lost::
CSS Miz Not yet :)
CSS Dennis Where at Tony.
CSS Gary I'll catch up in time :)
CSS Dennis Just on the second line of the header stuff Gary - \id xxxx
CSS Tony Doe sthe number equal our area?
CSS Tony like ie JPEGView
CSS Tony is one area?
CSS Gary ok :)
CSS Dennis No, the id# is for an INDIVIDUAL item within an area. In the case of the CSS rainman
CSS Dennis reports, we are talking about one singular report, within the group bobaloo.
CSS Dennis If, and I say big if, we do have groups associated with each company then we would have
CSS Tony Ahh gotcha!
CSS Dennis something like this: \group jpegview, then an \id jpg1111, 2222, 3333 etc. Depending on
CSS Dennis the number of items within the group.
CSS Gary ::: opening up container of Chinese food that was just delivered and dishing out :::
CSS Gary Anyone care for some?
CSS Tony So I take it we must note down in our own database what our log number is?
CSS Dennis Very important!!: If you use the \id auto, you are ADDING a NEW item to the group
CSS Dennis and this can sink you. Especially when all you originally wanted to do was to change an
CSS Dennis existing item. I stress the id#'s because, you can end up with a bunch of duplicate entries
CSS Dennis if you are not careful. You can also, if you use the wrong id#, replace the wrong text
CSS Dennis and if you are really off base, that text could be in a completely different area!!.
CSS Dennis So, the key points to remember are to (1) double check the area, make sure its the right one
CSS Dennis (2) double check the ID#, make sure you are changing the one you want to change - or adding
CSS Dennis something totally new to the area.
CSS Dennis Questions?
CSS Tony So let me get this straight
CSS Tony ! make sure it's Bobaloo?
CSS Tony 2 make sure i have the right number?
CSS Miz When are we going to be using this? To do what?
CSS Dennis You got it Tony!! Miz, you should begin using them now in making up your reports on the
CSS Dennis companies you have been assigned. Have you all checked out the Reference Guide here in
CSS Dennis fatdome?? The reports that are in there were ALL generated by using Rainman. Right now,
CSS Miz That's what I thought. But you mentioned changing text?
CSS Dennis you still have to submit through your Tier 1 however that will change when we go to full
CSS Dennis rainman implementation.
CSS Dennis Yes, when you submit a company report, if it already exists, you'll be changing the old
CSS Dennis report for a new one.
CSS Miz Ah, I gothca! :D
CSS Tony Is that what we want to do?
CSS Tony change the old for a new one?
CSS Miz We'll be updating it, right?
CSS Dennis Yes, in part. Currently, Big Bob wants us to paste in the text of the older report to the
CSS Dennis bottom of the latest so that we have two months of reports in one company text item.
CSS Dennis hmmm, that didn't make sense. :) We go into the Reference Guide, copy out last month's
CSS Dennis report, paste it into the new report (at the bottom) then send in the whole thing.
CSS Tony So we only need two months worth of reports?
CSS Dennis per company - yes.
CSS Tony and it will be a continual update of the same id number right?
CSS Dennis This way Bob can quickly see if there has been an improvement.
CSS Dennis You got it!!
CSS Dennis Now, here's what I call the neutral command line - the one that won't do any damage at all,
CSS Dennis so long as the format is correct. "\comment" allows you to put a line of text, saying
CSS Dennis anything you want. This command line is totally optional - you don't have to have it in a
CSS Dennis report at all. (Its neat if you want to say something like "\comment Pam uses clairol" or
CSS Dennis "\comment Mike sucks raw eggs" :)
CSS Miz Heh! ::: making note to send log to Pam & Mike ::: ;>
CSS Tony so ya think Bob'll like that?
CSS Dennis :) That's the kicker - only the person submitting the Rainman report sees the comment! You
CSS Dennis can put anything in there. ;)
CSS Gary \comment <--- munching on his egg roll
CSS Dennis Just remember, it can be only one line.
CSS Dennis and it must follow immediately after the \comment
CSS Dennis Okay, now we get into the trenches....
CSS Dennis "\map bobaloo" tells the stratus, what sub-area to map the id# specified or assigned to.
CSS Dennis Think of the who thing as something like this...
CSS Dennis \GROUP BOBALOO - big directory
CSS Dennis \ID xxxx - pointer and name of the item
CSS Dennis \MAP BOBALOO - put the id# into this map so that we can find it later.
CSS Tony Give us an example
CSS Dennis Map is used in case you have sub groups. A good example is say - we have a big Group called
CSS Dennis Games, within that, we have a sub-group called Arcade. You have some text you need updated
CSS Dennis about a pinball game so you tell the stratus to ...
CSS Dennis Move to the group Games with the \group Games
CSS Dennis Change this text with the \id xxxx
CSS Dennis Put this changed text in the appropriate area within the Arcade section with \map Arcade
CSS Dennis In the case of our CSS reports, the group and the sub-group are called the same thing:
CSS Dennis Bobaloo
CSS Dennis What will probably occur with us will be the Group being the primary area, the the Map
CSS Dennis actually mapping to the company name.
CSS Dennis Now how much have I confused you??
CSS Tony A LOT!
CSS Tony So give us a demo of the commands as they would appear
CSS Dennis \group bobaloo
CSS Dennis \id csabfl5x
CSS Dennis \comment Bob is ugly
CSS Dennis \map bobaloo
CSS Dennis Note: id#'s are 8 characters long - all the time.
CSS Dennis AND they usually don't make a lot of sense ;)
CSS Dennis why you ask?? :)
CSS Tony LOL
CSS Tony So in our own DB we should note the ID's?
CSS Dennis cause we all normally will get the first id# from when we submit the first report with a
CSS Dennis \id auto - the stratus assigns the number and its notorious for generating random stuff. :)
CSS Tony ?
CSS Dennis Yes, you should track the companies you are responsible for.
CSS Tony Does each of our personal CS areas have its own ID numbers?
CSS Dennis Jump in anytime. There ain't enough of us to stand to protocol :)
CSS Dennis Each company report will have its own id#.
CSS Dennis I don't want to get into the future too much but eventually, EVERY item within the company
CSS Dennis area, actually anywhere online, will have its own id#.
CSS Tony So for now there will be only ! id per CSS or per area?
CSS Miz From what I understand, any company that has a report in Bob's Reference Area will have the ID# on it.
CSS Tony IE I have 12 companies
CSS Dennis Miz, you got it. Tony, if you have 12 companies and 12 reports, you'll have 12 id#'s.
CSS Miz Yep, one for each company. :)
CSS Gary How do you find the IDs if you don't know them?
CSS Tony Yeah?
CSS Dennis Hah!!! Very good question Gary!! Just for asking that, you get a free hour of online time
CSS Dennis :)
CSS Gary Ok... I'll give you another account to credit it to ;)
CSS Dennis oh oh ;)
CSS Dennis Okay, if you don't mind, I would like to put that question on the back burner for a moment
CSS Gary <--- finished his egg foo young and ready for action ;)
CSS Dennis while we finish out the header on the company repors.
CSS Dennis oops, reports.
CSS Miz ::: shoving "ID question" onto back burner :::
CSS Dennis The next command we send to the stratus is for it to date stamp our reports. To do this we
CSS Dennis simply put in the command "\dateline date". This appends the date to the title of our
CSS Dennis report automatically.
CSS Dennis We could go into the real fancy stuff like time stamping and date/time stamping but for the
CSS Dennis purposes of our CSS reports, all we need is a date stamp. - TEST question:
CSS Dennis If \dateline date does a date stamp, what would do a time stamp? What would do a date &
CSS Dennis time stamp?
CSS Dennis Miz??
CSS Miz /time]
CSS Miz ?
CSS Miz oops... \timeline
CSS Dennis close but not quite right :)
CSS Tony \timeline time?
CSS Miz \timeline time
CSS Dennis Remember, \dateline date puts the date on the line.
CSS Miz \dateline time
CSS Dennis So... \dateline time would put the time on the line. ;) BINGO!
CSS Dennis How bout the second half of that question?? Gary??
CSS Miz Given enough clues, will finally figure it out. :)
CSS Gary second half?
CSS Miz \dateline date time?
CSS Miz Will that work?
CSS Gary \datetimeline date time
CSS Dennis Miz got it but put a space in there. The correct syntax is: \dateline datetime
CSS Miz Hokay. Makes sense. :)
CSS Dennis Remember, for the purposes of our CSS reports,we use only \dateline date
CSS Gary <--- if he had a \dateline he'd be out on the town tonite instead of here ;)
CSS Dennis LOL!!
CSS Miz Hmmm... I'll bet that's how the Stratus is set up when it sends out email :)
CSS Dennis Now comes the meat of the report. Our headline and the actual text of the report.
CSS Miz Gary, you're preaching to the choir. :)
CSS Dennis (yep Miz!)
CSS Miz So, what was that? The soup course? ;>
CSS Dennis There are two ways to go about this. Personally, I don't like to type so I use the
CSS Dennis optimized method. I'll show you the long way first.
CSS Dennis To put a headline on your report (it will appear as the first line of your report and also
CSS Dennis at the window title) you use the command: \headline ???? where the ???? is one line of text
CSS Dennis that is the actual headline you want displayed.
CSS Dennis So for a report on JPegView we would have: \headline JPEGView
CSS Dennis If no questions, I'll move on.
CSS Tony ga
CSS Dennis Now, we tell the stratus that all the text following is to be taken as only text,
CSS Dennis and for it not to touch it unless it sees another '\' (backslash)
CSS Dennis To do that we use, on a line by itself the command: \text
CSS Tony almost reembles a vi editor
CSS Dennis yep, very close Tony
CSS Dennis The text of your report would start on the next line below this command.
CSS Dennis Now, for the shortcut ;)
CSS Dennis You can combine the commands \headline and \text into one command to cover both
CSS Dennis actions you want the stratus to do. The command to do that is: \htext ???? where ???? is
CSS Dennis the headline you want displayed. Then, on the next line, you just start the text of your
CSS Dennis report. You save 10 key strokes!! :)
CSS Dennis In summary, your CSS company reports should have a header like this:
CSS Dennis \group bobaloo
CSS Dennis \id xxxx (either auto or the actual id #)
CSS Dennis \map bobaloo
CSS Dennis \dateline date
CSS Dennis \htext ???? (the company name)
CSS Dennis or substitute the \htext with:
CSS Dennis \headline ???? (the company name)
CSS Dennis \text
CSS Dennis got it??
CSS Miz Yup :)
CSS Dennis Okay, the final command for the report: \end
CSS Dennis I don't think that one needs to be explained :)
CSS Dennis Okay, let's get to Gary's question "How do we find out the ID#'s??"
CSS Tony Whew what a keyboard full!!!!
CSS Dennis Rainman has several other commands as outlined in the Rainman documents
CSS Dennis available in the Online Staff Center. They can get confusing at first but then
CSS Dennis I'm sure you'll see the logic behind them. The best example is the \get command.
CSS Dennis By using a "\get bobaloo", you can get all the id#'s associated with the group Bobaloo.
CSS Dennis As in all rainman reports, this simple one liner is in a file and sent as an attachment to
CSS Gary ::: pushing my question back to the front burner :::
CSS Dennis the Rainman address. When you submit your reports to your Tier 1's, they are attachments
CSS Dennis to your e-mail. This little \get command is the same way.
CSS Dennis Your Tier 1 then takes the attachment, checks for the format and just sends on to our Rainma
CSS Dennis oops, Rainman address. Not much to it, provided the format is all correct.
CSS Tony So we do all this formatted in a document sent to our tier one
CSS Tony and the tier one submits it for us?
CSS Dennis Yep, that's the procedure for now.
CSS Miz Is there any reason why all the ID #s aren't in a file in the library?
CSS Dennis Yes Miz - I haven't done it yet. :)
CSS Miz Heh. :) Okay.
CSS Dennis I will be doing that tomarrow though.
CSS Dennis and, that leads us to another question - What's the easiest way to make up a Rainman
CSS Dennis report?? (trick question)
CSS Tony Cut and paste it
CSS Tony Pam Sent us one?
CSS Dennis okay, I'll give you 1/2 credit ;) The entire report is in template form available for
CSS Dennis downloading in our software library.
CSS Miz Oh shucks, that's no trick question. :)
CSS Tony Like the template Pam sent us?
CSS Dennis {{ Jo }}
CSS Gary {{ Jo!!! }}}
CSS Miz Hiya, Jo :)
CSS Jo {{Dennis}}} :::snif:::
CSS Dennis Now that you all have the singular rainman report down pat, how would you go about
CSS Jo {{{Everyone}}}
CSS Dennis submitting multiple reports?? Hint: \end only appears at the very end of the rainman
CSS Tony Hey Jo whatcha know?
CSS Dennis submittal.
CSS Tony cut and past a lot in succession?
CSS Gary Just run them in a file one after the other?
CSS Jo I know I have the flu, and it's miserable!
CSS Dennis yes, and??
CSS Gary Putting the /end at the end of them all
CSS Dennis and?
CSS Dennis :) I knew I could catch you guys if I tried hard enough ; )
CSS Dennis To do multiple reports, i.e.; more than one rainman submission in an attached file, here's
CSS Dennis what you do: The very FIRST line is the \group bobaloo command.
CSS Dennis then, the header is the same for EACH company except you DO NOT put \group bobaloo in it.
CSS Dennis here's an example:
CSS Dennis \group bobaloo
CSS Dennis \id auto
CSS Dennis \map bobaloo
CSS Dennis \dateline date
CSS Dennis \htext JPEGView
CSS Dennis this is the report on JPEGView
CSS Dennis this is the end of the report
CSS Dennis \id cfasgh0q
CSS Dennis \dateline date
CSS Dennis oops!!! scratch that last line and insert:
CSS Dennis \map bobaloo
CSS Dennis \dateline date
CSS Dennis \htext Gronk Software
CSS Dennis this is the report of Gronk Software
CSS Dennis this is the end of the report and the end of my submission today
CSS Dennis \end
CSS Dennis sorry bout that one line, I got ahead of myself. :)
CSS Jo Please 'splain: Grop bobaloo tells the computer it's going to be a group rainman? And then each
CSS Dennis Here's the kicker - you can submit AS MANY reports as you want in the stringing format.
CSS Jo consecute bobaloo is the independent divider?
CSS Dennis No Jo, the first group bobaloo tells the computer that all the below stuff will be in
CSS Dennis the group bobaloo. The the suceeding map bobaloo tells the computer that the id#'s will
CSS Dennis should all be contained within the sub-group (map) bobaloo.
CSS Dennis You use the \group only once per submission because you only have to switch the
CSS Donald Hi. :)
CSS Dennis computer's pointers to that major group once. Any more than that and its just a waste of
CSS Dennis typing.
CSS Dennis Rainman will accept the \group bobaloo in the header of all reports, even those strung
CSS Jo Hi Donald, OK, Dennis, I think I got that.:)
CSS Dennis together but there's no reason for it once it has been switched once.
CSS Dennis Hya Donald!
CSS Donald Hi Dennis....Is someone logging tonite? Will it be posted?
CSS Miz <-- is logging
CSS Dennis That's Rainman guys. If you want, you can send me test ones and I'll be more than happy to
CSS Dennis check them out and give you a critique.
CSS Jo brb
CSS Miz Critique? Geez, how about just a little help. :)
CSS Dennis that too! :)
CSS Tony Cool
CSS Tony So does that conclude training?
CSS Miz ::: cringing at the word "critique" ::::
CSS Dennis Of course, you can snag me anytime I'm online for help. That's what I'm here for.
CSS Dennis Now - the official rainman training is over unless you have questions. Also, questions abou
CSS Dennis oops about anything else in our CSS world can begin :)
CSS Dennis (Miz, send me the log too please??)
CSS Miz Dennis, I'll send it to you and you can post it. :)
CSS Gary Dennis, just one more question...
CSS Dennis thanks!
CSS Dennis Shoot Gary.
CSS Miz :: aiming at Gary & pulling the trigger :::::
CSS Gary Now that we've seen the online version, do you recommend that we see the movie Rainman...
CSS Gary or read the novel?
CSS Tony It rolls down stairs alone and in pairs
CSS Tony rolls over the neighbors dog
CSS Dennis LOL!!! read the novel - its a good reference. Then see the movie - the popcorn is usually
CSS Dennis good.
CSS Gary Not the dog!!
CSS Gary Ahhh, ok. thanks :D
CSS Tony a thing a thing a marvelous thing everyone wants a log!
CSS Dennis Any other CSS questions??
CSS Miz Can't think of anything, thanks Dennis :)
CSS Dennis So, you're all experts and ready to hit it big time?? :)
CSS Tony LOL yah right!
CSS Miz No, we're all still to inexperienced to know what to ask. :)
CSS Gary Dennis, I think you did such a great job we're spechless... thanks :)
CSS Dennis Miz, you've submitted a report or two already haven't you??
CSS Miz Nope, not yet.
CSS Dennis yea, sure Gary :)
CSS Dennis Look guys, I'm just like you. Just a tad more experience is all the difference.
CSS Dennis You'll all have this stuff down pat in no time. You should have seen the screw-ups I did!!
CSS Jo What rolls down stairs, alone or in pairs, rolls over you neighbors dog...
CSS Gary Dennis, did you end up changing files in Japan via the Internet by mistake?
CSS Miz We probably couldn't mess it up so badly that it couldn't be fixed. Isn't that what Tier I's are for?
CSS Miz ;>
CSS Dennis Very close Gary! I inadvertantly removed ALL my text items in my old forum once.
CSS Dennis LOL Miz!!
CSS Gary Opps!
CSS Tony Log Log!!!
CSS Miz But that's why you guys get the big bucks, right? ;>
CSS Dennis Sure do, about 10 times what you all get :)
CSS Miz See, I knew you were overpaid!
CSS Miz :D
CSS Dennis of course 10 X 0 still equals 0
CSS Donald Everyone loves Log!!!
CSS Jo Question for all...has anyone else had a lot of trouble getting online lately?
CSS Gary Dennis, 10 OH accounts???
CSS Gary Jo, I had some problems getting here earlier.
CSS Miz Gads, how could you keep track of all your identies???
CSS Jo {{{Donald}}} {{{Tony}}} you get the gold stars tonight!
CSS Dennis Gary, I only have one. :( I lost my original account that was overheaded. Lost it just
CSS Gary Has anyone else had any problems posting using TEXT?
CSS Dennis this week.
CSS Dennis I was AFA Dennis way way back when. ;)
CSS Jo For some reason it takes three or four tries to log on? Any ideas why?
CSS Dennis oh my gosh, that was in 89!! oy!
CSS Donald :) Don't forget Log for Girls!
CSS Gary Awwww, Dennis... I have a second account but usually don't get to use up my monthly minimum.
CSS Tony That looked like me last week right Dennis?
CSS Dennis overloaded telenet or tymnet node Jo.
CSS Dennis :) Yea Tony. That was a fun one. :)
CSS Dennis Looked like me today whilst I was trying to update a bunch of text items.
CSS Jo ALso, in New Hampshire they offer phone numbers that are local on another net that my system doesn't
CSS Jo opt for? ANy reason why?
CSS Dennis That's why we are pushing for Rainman guys. We don't get that "Text Update Failed" message
CSS Dennis and you Mac users will be able to do Flashmail on the Rainman stuff. Eventually.
CSS Dennis what other net?
CSS Donald Meaning: Send later before logging off?
CSS Miz This will replace the Keyword: Text tool?
CSS Jo I think it's tymnet
CSS Dennis Or unattended mode Donald.
CSS Dennis Yep Miz.
CSS Donald Nice. :)
CSS Dennis Tymnet should be an option in MacAOL Jo.
CSS Tony What's the difs?
CSS Jo It's not on mine?!
CSS Dennis between what Tony??
CSS Dennis No where in the setup Jo?? It used to be.
CSS Tony Tymnet
CSS Tony and Sprint Net
CSS Jo I have three options. SPrintnet, Telenet and one other.
CSS Dennis Oh!! Telenet is owned by SprintNet - mostly optical between major hubs and alot more
CSS Donald Sprintnet, Tymnet and Dennisnet.
CSS Dennis effective node switching. Tymnet is a bit behind the tech curve. Their switches
CSS Dennis are few and far between.
CSS Tony I dinna have access to tlelnet
CSS Jo No, silly - Bobnet! };)
CSS Dennis No questions on Text, LIbrary or message board tools?? I"m amazed!
CSS Donald I use Bobnet on some of my lenses for shooting. ;)
CSS Tony is that the same telelnet as in Interent telenet?
CSS Jo I missed it but if you would go over it...}:)\
CSS Miz They will eventually be replaced by Rainman, right?
CSS Dennis Yep Tony. Same numbers and everything. Of course Internet usually uses sub-nets,
CSS Jo (just kidding, I'll read the notes from MIz!)
CSS Dennis of Telenet for their addresses.
CSS Miz Jo, you didn't miss it -- we didn't talk about them. :)
CSS Tony Now the internet we have access to is the same as the one I use on a UNIX?
CSS Tony at work?
CSS Donald I think there is only one Internet...
CSS Dennis May be tony, depends on your network. I'm on the DDN at work and that is a whole
CSS Dennis different ball game.
CSS Dennis If your addresses begin with a 3110, then chances are, you are on the same net.
CSS Tony I can't remember my address
CSS Tony I only use it for mail, but I heard that there si a live talk section in the pipeline
CSS Dennis Unless of course you are branching across TP-4's to a 148, 159 or 121 address. Believe me,
CSS Gary Folks, time for me to be mozying along... have a great one!
CSS Dennis it gets confusing very fast!! :)
CSS Donald Night Gary :)
CSS Miz Night, Gary :)
CSS Tony Later Gary
CSS Jo Take care gary, I'll try and catch up!
CSS Dennis Night Gary
CSS Gary Jo, Ok...I'll be waiting :) {{}}
CSS Gary {{{ Miz }}}
CSS Miz Yep, me too, if the meeting is officially over. :)
CSS Miz Gary :*
CSS Gary <<HandShakesToTheGuys>>
CSS Donald Manly thing to do..;)
CSS Tony So how does the active realtime internet work?
CSS Miz We are done, right?
CSS Dennis Yep Miz, :)
CSS Miz Okay! I'll ship you the log, and you can edit it as you see fit. :)
CSS Miz Thanks, Dennis! It was a help. :)
CSS Dennis Active Internet means you can attend conferences if the host supports it but mostly its for
CSS Dennis doing FTP transfers.
CSS Miz Night, all :)
CSS Dennis Any questions Miz, just snag me. That's what I'm here for.
CSS Miz Okay! :)
